Skeletal Muscle vs. Muscle Mass what's the difference?
I always got confused when it comes to skeletal muscle and muscle mass. Shouldn’t muscle be muscle?!
Simply put: skeletal muscle is “trainable”
When you talk about gaining muscle you are talking about the growth of skeletal muscle which is attached to your bones.
Muscle mass includes every single muscle in your body: skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle
Both are fun measurements to look at but when we talk about muscle gain we want to focus on the skeletal muscle % in relation to your body weight.
